Why did I choose DMU?

There are several reasons why I choose De Montfort University over other universities. But the primary factors are:

• DMU has a strong academic reputation in the field of Computer Science and Engineering.
• DMU is located in Leicester, which is a vibrant and multicultural city in the heart of England. The city offers a rich history, cultural attractions, and a thriving student community.
• DMU provides modern facilities, including state-of-the-art libraries, laboratories, and technology-equipped learning spaces. Access to these resources can enhance the learning experience and provide opportunities for practical learning and research.

What is my course title at DMU?

Course Title: Artificial Intelligence BSc

Artificial Intelligence - the capacity of machines to make decisions and learn from experience - is the future of complex decision-making. Combining a mixture of robotics, artificial intelligence and computer science, this course will develop the theoretical knowledge and practical industry skills needed to create smart solutions in commerce and industry (DMU, 2023).

Which modules am I most interested in?

I am looking forward with great enthusiasm to learning Computer Programming, Applied Artificial Intelligence and Big Data & Machine Learning modules in the next years. Because I believe that these modules are the most important part of the whole course.

• Computer Programming: In this module, I can learn how to develop a computer program, and a number of programming languages along with coding principles and unit testing in laboratories and lectures.
• Applied Artificial Intelligence: This module focuses on the practical application of AI and working with AI techniques and algorithms. Also, content online includes: 
• AI Modeling Technique
• Cognitive System
• Autonomous System
• Human-centred AI
• Big Data and Machine Learning:  In this module,  I have the opportunity to learn ML libraries such as Apache Spark, PyTorch and etc. The module covers supervised and unsupervised learning techniques with specific applications of data mining.

What are my goals after I have finished the course?

After finishing my studies at De Montfort University, I want to use my gained skills and experience. I want to discover other areas of AI which I have not learned or looked deeply into.
